The battery replacement cost of the TATA Nexon EV is between Rs 6,20,000 – Rs 7,50,000. The batteries can be replaced after 8 years or in 1,60,000 Km. If your battery becomes faulty within 8 years or below, you can claim the warranty and replace it for free.
I don’t feel many EV car owners may opt for battery replacement in the future because as the battery price is half of the vehicle price, they would rather buy a new car or exchange it than pay this high amount until the battery prices get lower.
As for now, TATA Naxon has two variants. The first is the TATA Nexon EV Max, and the second is the TATA Nexon EV Prime.
The battery capacity of these two vehicles is:
- TATA Nexon EV Max – 40.5 kWh
- TATA Nexon EV Prime – 30.2 kWh
In India, the battery price is calculated based on per kWh battery. This means the price is completely based on the capacity of the battery. The average cost per 1 kWh of lithium-ion battery in India is between Rs 18,000 – Rs 25,000. In the future, these prices can get low if production increases.

What steps do you need to follow to replace the battery of the TATA Nexon?
Here is the step-by-step process that you need to do to replace the battery of the Tata Nexon EV battery.
Step 1 – Call the TATA service center in your area. You can get the number from Google search easily.
Step 2 – Discuss your problems and requirements regarding battery replacement with the service center staff.
Step 3 – You might need to register to get your car’s replacement battery or wait about 10-15 days.
Step 4 – You will get a call to leave your car at the service center. In most EVs, the battery is fixed on the lower side, so replacing the battery might take a day or two.
Make sure to check the battery and check the warranties and paperwork before you take out your car from the service center.
