If you have a new or old neckband, you must think about how it should be charged so that its battery will last longer. I have been using the neckband for the last 4-5 years, and as you all are aware, neckband batteries cannot be replaced or repaired unless you are a pro technician.
I will be sharing some tips you can follow while charging your neckband, and make sure to share these tips with your friends and family so that they can also increase the battery life of their portable music devices.
Tips for charging your neckband and increasing its battery Life.
1. Use only the neckband charging cable – There are specific types of cables available to charge the neckband; only use them as they supply lower current compared to what your smartphone requires and hence cannot damage or overcharge the neckband.
2. Avoid charging it daily – Charging the neckband daily decreases the charge cycle of the device, and hence, it is not advisable to do so. Neckbands have a battery capacity of 24-30 hours on a single charge, so they can be used for 3-4 days with one charge.
3. Don’t fully charge it – I have mentioned in my previous articles that when you fully charge a device, you may have observed that the device gets heated, and heat is the battery’s enemy, degrading it faster. Charging the neckband for 10-15 minutes every alternate day is advisable to increase the device’s battery life.
4. Avoid using it outdoors for a long time:- I know that most bluethooth headsets and neckbands have water-resistant quality. But as you all know, you may need higher volume, heat, and pressure when using the neckbands outside. These things strain the device, and hence, the battery drains 10%-15% faster than using it indoors.
5. Clean it at regular intervals:- I mostly clean my neckband once or twice a month, but you can increase the cleaning frequency depending on your usage. To clean it, take earbuds and wipe the ear tips with the cotton end. You can also use alcohol if dirt is more. Eartips accumulate earwax and dirt with time. If you clean them regularly, you may not have high volume levels; hence, less battery will be drained.
6. Keep the volume levels between 50%-70%:- The best sound volume for bluethooth devices is between 50%-70%. I have never used the device to 100% volume. Using the device at full volume can draw a lot of battery power, and it is also harmful to ears as high volume can damage them.
